Why writers make love without words
Published by aileen June 11th, 2007 in General. If I were to batter you with concrete blocks
Inundate you with cash flows,
bury you with lesson plans and
stacks of bills of lading.
I could pile a days receipts
for lattes and for scones
Make a pyre of HTML
and toast your toes on ticket stubs.
I could tell you, I’ve brought Excel to bed.
Let’s run regressions, baby.
I’ll paint your back with ARVs
and take it off with risk swaps.
The violence of words on love
You’d better reconsider
If you are asking all these things
From poets after work.
From this poet I ask all this and more. And she, likewise, from me. Miss you all and house2.0.
