House 2.0

Here’s the house description and goals we’ve been sending to friends and have posted on craigslist. It’s a good summary of what we want to create:

We’re looking to gather a group of cool people (4-5, male & female) to live cooperatively in a nice lofty space in a cool part of the city (private bedrooms, two shared bathrooms, shared kitchen and common space.)

You should be down-to-earth, good at living with others, excited about cooking with people, veggie-leaning, creative, honest, and open to trying new things.

We estimate rooms to cost about $1,000-$1,200/ea, and expect to have a spacious common room to socialize, chill, party. We want to live in a comfortable, nurturing, fun environment, where we can have interesting conversations, have friends over, and learn from each other. Locations we are currently considering (we’re open to suggestions) are Lower east side, east village, soho, union sq area, chelsea, chinatown, tribeca, etc.

- looking to move on 8/1/2005
- able to pay $1000-1200/month + security deposit
- able to commit to a one-year lease
- a non-smoker
- pet-friendly
- vegetarian (or willing to be mostly vegetarian in the house)
- interested in these areas of the city: Lower east side, east village, tribeca, soho, union sq area, chelsea, chinatown
- interested in living cooperatively with others
- creative, positive, and excited about this opportunity
